The Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) is an independent agency in the executive branch of the Federal Government. The RRB's primary function is to administer comprehensive retirement-survivor and unemployment-sickness benefit programs for the nation's railroad workers and their families, under the Railroad Retirement and Railroad Unemployment Insurance Acts.
Project overview
The Railroad Retirement Board came to Promet Source with the task of migrating the current RRB site onto the Drupal CMS along with all of its existing site data. Improving the website’s design to have more visual appeal and enhancing user experience through clearer navigation were two additional goals on top of the migration. Being a government entity, the RRB was careful to lay out accessibility requirements for the site, such as making the site ADA Section 508 compliant and accessible through screen readers for visually impaired users.
Another crucial aspect of Promet’s engagement with RRB on their redesigned site was providing Drupal training for different user groups within RRB. Promet also conducted Agile training workshops and user acceptance testing throughout the project to coordinate the efforts between both parties and streamline the project timeline.
