Case Study: Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC)

The mission of the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) is to provide training and support that helps buyers’ representatives be successful in their business—and to educate consumers about the benefits of buyer representation and the ABR® designation, in order to improve their homebuying experience. REBAC’s course provider network (the real estate associations and schools that offer REBAC courses) is impressive, extending well beyond the U.S. More than 136,000 real estate professionals have participated in REBAC-sponsored education.
Why Promet?
REBAC selected Promet Source to spearhead a migration/redesign project.  Promet was chosen because of our experience and expertise in working within the association industry (e.g. RSNA and ARCS, etc) and our high level expertise in delivering custom Drupal solutions. Promet’s development practices can be easily tailored to fit the needs of association sites with special attention to membership management, interaction, user interface, flexibility and accessibility.  Additionally, our experience working with complex integrations, creating custom APIs, and migrating non-Drupal sites to Drupal proved to be necessary for the project.
REBAC is part of the National Association of Realtors; NAR’s family of sites are uniformly on Drupal. When REBAC approached Promet Source, they were looking to match CMS platforms with the rest of NAR by migrating from ColdFusion to Drupal 7. Further, they needed to update their design (for modernity and user-interface) and integrate with their CRM (Ramco).
Promet Source successfully migrated the REBAC site from ColdFusion to Drupal 7, including their large membership database. A major component of the project was integrating with their CRM (Ramco). REBAC is an association; their major asset is its member base. Unfortunately, RamCo did not have an API for Drupal, so (in true Promet style) we custom-developed one. To ensure success with this API development, we collaborated with Ramco to understand use cases and all technical aspects of the software.
To update and improve their design, we worked with long-time UI/UX partner Limina. This collaboration resulted in a user-friendly interface for REBAC to engage its members. Now, all users can easily access information relevant to them: REBAC members, potential buyers, anonymous users, etc. Further, it is much easier for members to update and maintain their user profiles.
Promet Source approached this project using the Watergile method of project management to handle the key aspects of the project: Drupal migration, redesign and theming, and CRM integration.
Drupal 7 improved the site in terms of speed, performance, management and ease-of-use. Integration with their membership database and CRM has given REBAC the tools for efficient member management and easier communication. The redesign allows the audience to interact intuitively with the site.
Promet delivered REBAC a top-performing, easy-to-manage site with stronger interaction to engage its audience.
