Workbay.net is a website that bridges the gap between employee and employer. With Workbay, users can explore job opportunities, build their professional profiles, and connect with companies. Workbay's customized Wordpress web application also allows employers to post jobs, review applicants, and sell their products and services through Workbay's easy to use and user-friendly system.
The Workbay team came to Promet with a few key technical and accessibility challenges that were presented by one of their clients, Memphis Works. Their project, MemphisWorks.com was in the final stages before launch when they were alerted that their site had to meet WCAG 2.0 level AA requirements before their scheduled go live date, which was fast approaching. While Workbay had a technical development team in place ready to implement the necessary changes, they had no knowledge of ADA or WCAG best practicies for web accessibility.
After our initial conversation with Workbay, we settled on the solution of technical accessibility consulting and training as the best (and fastest) solution that would enable the Workbay team to quickly get up to speed on web accessibility best practices, identify the outstanding ADA compliance issues on their client's new site, and still deliver the project on time and within budget.
Of the many urgent inquiries that the Workbay team sent out in hopes of finding an immediate solution, Promet was the only firm to respond immediately and begin their consulting that very same day. Following the consulting session, Promet followed up with the materials covered, along with a set of resources and tools that that Workbay can utilize on future client projects, including custom low literacy guidelines so that they have a specific internal policy to maintain.
