Jake grew up on a farm in northwest Missouri, and wanted to learn how to program since he was 13 years old!  He carried that into his post secondary education, when he studied Computer Information Systems at Missouri Western State University, with a focus on Java Development. Jake also joined the military and studied Satellite Communications Systems. Ultimately, he chose not to re-enlist after 12 years of service when his family and career outgrew his military life. Toward the end of college, he took a web development class and fell in love.  Jake was hired as a Drupal developer for one of the top marketing agencies in the country, where he spent 5 years building sites in Drupal 7 and Drupal 8. He considers himself a good all-around developer, with more of a primary focus on back end. Jake has done custom module development, multiple migrations, API integrations, theming, styling, and just about everything else it takes to create a great Drupal site today.
