611 Connect is an independent on-line channel designed to provide an intuitive, informative and educational experience for people who:
1) Have a phone and want to learn how to better use it.
2) Want a new handset and need help selecting one best suited to meet their needs.
3) Want the latest mobile news, reviews, how-tos and editorial content.

In addition to helping individuals become better consumers of wireless products and services, they believe their platform is uniquely designed to improve the customer acquisition process for wireless carriers. Better informed individuals make better choices which result in longer-term customer relationships for and therefore higher lifetime values for carriers. Challenge:

An investment group from Reston Virginia commissioned Promet Solutions to create a website with an integrated content management system to provide helpful information about wireless cell phones and services. Unlike existing online resources that are overly sales-oriented, the goal for 611Connect was to service two communities of users, people who have a phone and want to learn how to better use it and those who would like a new phone and need help selecting one best suited to meet their needs.

Solution:

Promet created a website based on Drupal that provided our client an interactive platform and a robust content management system. Key features of the website included extensive API integration with YouTube videos, Facebook and Amazon reviews. We also developed a social networking module enabling users to contribute content, such as user reviews, blog posts and How To articles. To increase site traffic, our experts also provided search engine optimization. It was important this platform had the flexibility to evolve to address changes in the client’s business plan. Today, 611Connect has become a destination and resource for thousands of users.
