Theater Company Website

TUTA contracted with Promet Solutions for the redesign of the TUTA website, with an eye to increase its audience and create a strong, memorable brand. For TUTA, there was a large gap between their existing site and the potential for creating an exciting and immersive brand experience for existing and potential patrons/audience.

TUTATO.COM serves as an extension to the TUTA brand and as a source of information for the theatre's current patrons. The web site also attracts area residents new to theatre, visitors to Chicago, educators and the media. TUTA patrons and supporters visit the Web site for performance times and on-line ticketing; for information about new play development or education and other programs; and/or to contribute financially to the theatre. Visitors new to the theatre seek information about what is playing and help planning their visit.

Challenge:

Development challenges included meeting complex functionality requirements and a fast-paced project timeline to create a highly visible web site for one of the leading not-for-profit theaters in Chicago.

Solution:

TUTA hired an outside consultant to establish the precise needs, layout, and requirements for the interactive web site. The consultant worked with TUTA’s artistic director Zeljko Djukic, newly appointed managing Director Christa Wolff, and the Board Marketing committee, chaired by Heather Joireman.

TUTA chose Promet to develop a new patron-friendly design and information architecture for its web site. Specifically, Promet implemented:

• A complex information architecture
• An intricate visual design
• A completely CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) & database driven site
• Setup and promote a new domain name tuta-theatre.org to improve TUTA’s identity and its non-for-profit status
• An e-commerce module for ticket sales. E-commerce module will also enable TUTA to accept online donations and process charges for classes
• Database of subscribers for both email and snail mailing with friendly interface for updating and maintenance and access for the core members only
• Highly customized, interactive functionality (i.e. calendar, photo gallery)
• An easy, no fuss way to add and update content, while protecting visual integrity.
