American Bus Association

The American Bus Association represents the business concerns of both U.S. and Canadian privately owned motor coach and tour operators. ABA represents the U.S. bus industry in Washington, DC, and supports the government affairs activities of its Canadian members and counterpart associations.

Promet Solutions led the architecture and implementation of the site redesign and re-launch in 2007. We worked with a collaborative team made up of our own internal resources, designers and key stakeholders from the American Bus Association. We migrated more than 600 pages of content from a static, difficult to manage platform to the Drupal CMS which now enables a number of users from the Bus Association to maintain fresh content for its user base. In addition, we integrated with a number of other ABA vendor systems to maintain a single sign-on for registrations for ABA events.

Challenge:

ABA wanted to have more control over their site with the ability to update their content, look and feel, and integrate much needed additional functionality. The end users would range in technical ability from beginner to advanced. All staff charged with keeping their department's content up-to-date would have to feel comfortable with utilizing the new web solution.

Solution:

Promet implemented a scalable, robust Content Management System (CMS) that could grow with the ABA organization. The Drupal CMS was chosen and customized specifically for ABA, allowing them to migrate over 600 pages of content from their exiting website, including blog entries and comments.

Promet also redesigned the previous website, giving it a more contemporary look that included the addition of flash animation, custom menus, and a unique theme that is entirely ABA's. Additionally, much needed online analytical tools were implemented, allowing ABA to record and report the number of page hits, areas of high ABA online traffic, and most viewed content.
